The Lotus Center for Wellness and Healing (TLCWH) is seeking a motivated and driven Administrative and Marketing Intern to join the team for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2027! This hybrid (primarily remote with some in-person events) internship offers an exciting and enriching opportunity for a Bachelors-level student to immerse themselves in various aspects of the mental health profession.

Position Type: Part-time unpaid internship

Location: Remote (in-person attendance at resource fairs, networking events, and workshop presentations)

Duration: One academic semester

At The Lotus Center for Wellness and Healing, we are rooted in providing trauma therapy and creating spaces conducive to healing, safety, and growth for communities who have historically faced oppression or a lack of access to mental health therapy. Our pillars of Accessibility, Education, and Collaboration provide us with the tools to travel with Black folks, the LGBTQIA+ community, and persons of color on their healing journey.

Job Description:

As the Administrative and Marketing Intern, you will assist with the development and maintenance of The Lotus Center for Wellness and Healing's social media presence, coordinate marketing and communication, network with mental health professionals, attend mental health resource fairs and networking events, and performance administrative tasks.

Undergraduate (must be entering your Junior or Senior at the time of your internship)

Duration:

 

January 2027-April/May 2027 (Spring semester)

May 2027-August 2027 (Summer semester)

August/September 2027-December 2027 (Fall semester)

Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Social Media Engagement

  • Create engaging, educational, trauma-informed, and stigma-reducing content across social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook).

  • Assist in developing the quarterly newsletter and designing material with mental health tips using trauma-informed and culturally responsive language.

  • Help maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity.

Marketing and Public Relations

  • Conduct research on mental health trends and audience interests.

  • Support the development and implementation of digital marketing campaigns focused on mental health awareness and service promotion.

  • Help maintain relationships with local mental health and healthcare providers through in-person visits and email communication.

  • Support planning and promotion of community events, workshops, or webinars.

  • Help coordinate logistics, registrations, and follow-up communications.

  • Attend networking events, workshop presentations, and resource fairs.

Graphic Design

  • Create visually appealing social media graphics, flyers, videos, and presentations using Canva.

  • Assist with capturing photo and video content at resource fairs and networking events.

  • Edit footage into polished social media-ready visuals via CapCut (or another video editing platform) to support outreach and engagement.

  • Support the design of materials for events, workshops, or resource toolkits.

Administrative Support

  • Assist with scheduling, email communications, and internal documentation.

  • Compile and organize monthly constituent data, outreach activity, and social media engagement to help track trends and inform practice needs.

  • Help organize digital files and manage practice tools/software as needed.

Qualifications:

​​

  • Currently enrolled in a Psychology, Marketing and Communications, or Business Administration Bachelor's degree program.

  • Interest in mental wellness and digital communication.

  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently.

  • Strong written/verbal communication and creative thinking skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, and Slides), and graphic design tools (Canva and CapCut).

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn).

Professional Experience and Benefits:

Hands-on Experience​​

  • Gain real-world experience working on a variety of tasks and projects related to building a private therapy practice and learn about potential career paths for mental health professionals.

Mentorship

  • Work closely with a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in private practice who will provide mentorship and support throughout your internship.

Networking Opportunities

  • Building connections with other mental health professionals.

Flexible Schedule

  • Self-care is important and helps prevent burnout, so a flexible schedule is offered. Develop a schedule that works for you and work from home for 10-15 hours per week (minimum of 3 days a week).
